Captivated by techno and indie rock, chemical engineer Pepe Mogt decided to create a project called Fussible along with his friend Melo Ruiz to combine traditional Mexican music and electronica. After they were joined by orthodontist and DJ Ramn Amor Amezcua, aka Bostich, "Polaris" became their first single, followed by a compilation called The Nortec Sampler. Soon Nortec Collective attracted the attention of Chris Blackwell's Palm Pictures label, releasing their first nor-tec-style album, called Tijuana Sessions, Vol. 1, in February 2001. The collection featured contributions from Cha3 members Fritz Torres and Jorge Vedin (also known as Clorofila), Pedro Gabriel Beas (aka Hiperboreas), ex-Artefakto Roberto Mendoza, Panptica, Plankton Man, Monnithor, and ex-Sonios Fernando Cor. http://www.nor-tec.org/
